Windy Mountain from Empire, Nevada came to market in 2023 and was immediately a hit with the lapidary community. It is reminiscent of onyx in appearance but is actually a quartz pseudomorph of onyx which marks it hard and somewhat translucent. Beautiful pink, red, salmon, and white, along with gray and black detailing are displayed in wavy bands. This material is smooth, hard and excellent quality for cutting and takes a great polish.
